White Sands National Park

While back home in New Mexico I found a little free time to make a trip down to White Sands National Park. It had been years since I’ve been to the park and I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to test out my fancy new drone.

While the 4 hour drive from Albuquerque to White Sands can be a bit tedious the destination never seems to disappoint. Upon entering the park you feel as if you’re entering some sort of backwards ski resort. All you see are white rolling hills to your left and right as you drive along a freshly plowed strip of road. Instead of experiencing the crisp, cold air of a mountain resort you’re greeted with the warm, dry air of the New Mexican desert.

Needless to say it’s virtually impossible to take a bad photo while at the park. I decided to do a little 5 mile loop hike out to the edge of the park to try and avoid the countless families who had brought their sleds to try out on the sand. After a mile or two the crowds started to disperse and I was left with just myself, some virgin sand, and my fully charged DJI Drone.

Below are some of the images and video I was able to capture!
